The idea behind Risslicht
An ordinary promise becomes difficult when a familiar city stops feeling safe. Risslicht is an illustrated storytelling project from Aisterpiece Studios. Its current story, Letzte Durchsage, follows Mika Kern through a city in crisis and a voice that keeps promising safety.
A promise in a city in crisis
Mika Kern repairs doors. On this day, he wants to collect his sister Lea from the clinic. Then he hears the first scream. People are being attacked in the streets of Falkenried, while a public announcement continues to promise safety. Mika sets out to find Lea.
The premise stays close to something recognisable: a person trying to keep a promise. The danger changes what that task demands. A familiar route, a closed door or a voice over a loudspeaker takes on a different meaning when the city around it no longer feels dependable.
Pictures that carry the story forward
Risslicht tells its stories in German through 2D comic imagery and narration. The short episodes belong to a continuing sequence. Each one carries the people, places and consequences of the story forward.
The pictures make that continuity visible. A worried face, dust on a jacket and a familiar location help the viewer stay with the characters. The series website describes this through a simple idea: what people experience leaves traces.
The people and the place
Risslicht is the project identity; Letzte Durchsage names the current story. Mika, Lea and the fictional city of Falkenried give that story its centre. A separate guide to the characters and setting introduces its world.
Start with the prologue
The prologue, Der erste Schrei, is the entry point. It begins with an open kiosk door, a bus driver in danger and Mika acting before he thinks. Watch with sound for the narration, then follow the story on the Risslicht channels.
